Vignobles & Découvertes : Vallée du Layon
The Vignobles & Découvertes label aims to provide quality visits and services on the theme of wine. The label appeals to a customer base that appreciates the world of wine without necessarily being connoisseurs, and offers a range of quality services: accommodation, cultural sites, activities and leisure, cellars to visit, restaurants, exploration of natural spaces, events, etc.
Seven destinations in Loire Valley have been awarded the label : Val de Loire, Amboise - Val de Loire, Chenonceau - Vallée du Loir - Chinon, Bourgueil, Azay - Saumur, Val de Loire - Vallée du Layon - Muscadet Loire Océan.Destination : Vallée du Layon
The “Vallée du Layon” destination covers a rural region made up of 44 districts, whose backbone is the River Le Layon. The destination’s identity has been built on two strong elements: the Loire and the vineyards.Over the past few years, the Layon Valley has capitalised on its central position and used its characteristic assets to best advantage in order to structure its offering and make a name for itself as one of the key destinations in the greater west in the realm of wine tourism and touring holidays.
The “Vallée du Layon” destination offers a selection of some fifteen partner cellars open to tourists, six accommodation options, along with a choice of seven restaurants serving traditional cuisine with food and wine recommendations. Visitors will be welcomed by the Loire Layon tourist office or by a choice of two partner tourism centres.
Visitors will be able to discover heritage sites such as the Anjou Wine and Vine Museum or the Château de Serrant and can enjoy a number of activities linked to wine (available in several languages), and events that highlight the region and its local traditions.
