32nd Medieval festival in Provins 77160 Provins fr

Craftsmen, jesters, merchants, and gamers will entertain you during those two festive days, in a joyful, ludic and sharing atmosphere.

This year, adults and children can immerse themselves in four universes that rhythmed inhabitants of medieval town’s life..

Take part to the various medieval daily life tasks! Lend a hand to the kneading task with our « talmelier » (medieval baker), and attend to many ludic workshops proposed by a spinner, a childcare provider, a potter, a « maître queux » (cooker)…

Let’s give way to games! Rope pulling, skittles, climbing, hoop throwing, treasure fishing, chess, spinning top…People of all ages will be the festivity’s kings! For Jesters, puppets, humoristic shows, musicians, and acrobats, the city’s streets will become a scene!

Life and military camps will be settled in the moats and demonstrations of jousting, fortress sieges, battles, duels, archery and crossbow tournaments will be at your disposal.

At the emblematic Caesar Tower’s feet and near to the Saint-Quiriace Collegiate, fairy tales, legends and fantastic songs will awake everybody’s imagination, by referring to the fears and believes. Dragons, goblins, and other chimeras will take the elders back in their childhood..

And of course, the festival’s usual events: the traditional medieval ball on the Place du Châtel, the great medieval concert (Saturday night’s summit), and the unavoidable Sunday’s parade with more than 500 costumed people (about 1.5 kms). This festival wouldn’t mean anything without its costumed visitors, who represent 40%, a figure that is growing up every year.
