The luminescence of Avignon

Magical nights at the Palace! A staple of architecture of medieval history in Provence, witness to the greatness of Christendom, the Palace of the Popes is classified World Heritage of Humanity by Unesco.

As an emblematic monument of the city, it marked the fate of Avignon from the first stone laid by Clement V in the fourteenth century to the performances of Jean Vilar, founder of the famous theater festival in 1947.

A monumental projection tells this story through grandiose scenography, a narrative in images projected on all the walls and floors of the courtyard invites the public to travel through the centuries. At the center of the main courtyard, spectators attend this striking reconstruction in 3D, where special effects, shadows and light effects, sound illustrations transform this mineral enclosure into an open-air theater. The luminescences of the Palace is an original rendezvous to discover the Palais des Papes in a different light, a sensory adventure that enriches the knowledge of the site through emotion and wonder.
