Getting to La Vélo Francette
British visitors will appreciate both the distinct French flavour and the easy accessibility of this cycle route which starts from the port of Ouistreham, the arrival point for cross-Channel ferries from the UK.
Whether you’re French, British, Belgian or Dutch, you can easily access the start and finish of the route from Paris:
- Paris - Caen by Intercity train (approximately 2hr)
- Paris - La Rochelle by high-speed TGV train (approximately 3hr30-4hr)

There’s a large choice of accommodation, rental outlets, tourist offices and visitor and leisure attractions near the cycle route. Many of these establishments have been awarded the Accueil Vélo label which guarantees excellent service for cyclists.
